Hello Golden Gate Navioneers; May 2, 2002
The April Fly in at Amador County, Sutter Creek turned out very nice. We had 8 Navions, 1 brand X, 4 Cars and 22 people. We had a private room for lunch and it was good food. After lunch some members went right back to the airport and headed for home. Among them was Chet Robbins our Photographer so the enclosed picture is of the group that left early. The rest of us looked around town for about an hour and it seems most found an Ice Cream shop that made great cones. I want to thank Barbara Coldren, Howard Curry, Dennis Dooley and Carol Wurzer for providing transportation from the Airport into town.
The next Fly in is on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MAY 18TH AND 19TH AT CARSON CITY, NEVADA (CXP). You should already have your rooms reserved at the Best Western Pinion Plaza Resort (877) 519-5567. If not and you want to attend you might call and see if they have rooms left. Tell them you are with the Golden Gate Navioneers. Check in time is 3:00 PM. They have a shuttle to the airport so give them a call for a ride. Overnight tiedown is $3.00 but the fee is waived at L.L. Arrow if you buy gas. Cancellations can be made up until 72 hours before scheduled arrival.
We have completed the arrangements for the June Fly in. As shown below. Note it is on Sunday.
Check our web site on www.navioneer.org/.
We have some changes in the schedule as shown below. The Fly in at Chester is cancelled and we have not yet decided on an alternate if any. We could not make satisfactory arrangements. Hugh Smith is the Chairman of the September Fly in at Grants Pass, Oregon and has completed the scheduling of rooms and the Jet boat ride.
